Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As on Closing Date: September 14, 2026)

• General Age Limit: 18 to 27 years for all posts.
• Proof of Age: Only Matriculation / SSC certificate issued by a recognized Education Board will be accepted as proof of Date of Birth.

Age Relaxation

• ST Candidates: 5 years (applicable for reserved posts).
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years.
• Departmental Candidates (Central Govt. with 3+ years regular service): Up to 40 years of age (up to 45 years for ST).

Educational & Technical Qualifications

1. Construction Assistant ‘A’ (CA’A’ - Fitter):

   • Secondary School Certificate (10th Standard pass under 10+2 system).
   • Industrial Training Institute (ITI) / National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) or equivalent in the required trade.
   • Minimum 2 years experience in the required trade.

2. Construction Handler (CH - Electrician):

   • Secondary School Certificate (10th Standard pass under 10+2 system).
   • Certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the required trade.

3. Fire Engine Driver - Ordinary Grade (FED OG):

   • Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board.
   • Possession of a valid driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV).
   • Knowledge of motor mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in vehicle).
   • Minimum 3 years experience of driving heavy motor vehicles.
   • Must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties.

4. Civilian Motor Transport Driver - Ordinary Grade (CMTD OG):

   • Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board.
   • Possession of a valid driving license for motor cars and Light Motor Vehicles (LMV).
   • Knowledge of motor mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in vehicle).
   • Minimum 3 years experience of driving a motor car.
   • Desirable: Possession of a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

Selection Process

The recruitment process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by skill/endurance tests depending on the post:

1. Screening of Applications: Initial verification of online inputs.
2. Computer Based Test (CBT): Conducted online for all posts in bilingual format (Hindi/English, except General English section).
3. Endurance Test & Skill Test (For FED OG): Shortlisted in a 1:15 ratio based on CBT merit. Must pass physical endurance tasks and practical driving/firefighting skill tests (Qualifying in nature).
4. Skill Test (For CMTD OG): Shortlisted in a 1:15 ratio based on CBT merit. Practical driving test and mechanism knowledge check (Qualifying in nature).
5. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final merit list will be prepared purely based on CBT scores for candidates who qualify in the skill/endurance tests.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT

• Unreserved (UR): 35%
• OBC: 30%

Physical Endurance & Skill Test Details

For Fire Engine Driver (FED OG)

• Endurance Test Tasks:

  1. Carrying filled sand & water buckets (100m) in 45 seconds.
  2. Squats (Uthak Baithak) – 20 nos.
  3. Push-ups – 15 nos.
  4. Bent Knee Sit-ups – 15 nos.

• Skill Test Tasks: Driving fire tenders on ramps and roads, traffic rules/symbols, motor mechanism, planned maintenance, tyre rotation, defect identification, water pump engagement/disengagement, and general firefighting knowledge.

For Civilian Motor Transport Driver (CMTD OG)

• Skill Test Tasks: Driving LMV/HMV on ramp and road, knowledge of traffic rules/symbols, routine pre-start checks, vehicle maintenance, checking lube oil/coolant/water, and minor mechanical adjustments.
