The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for the recruitment of 704 Vice Principal posts in the Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi through Special Advertisement No. 51/2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

Essential Educational Qualification

• Master’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized University.

Essential Experience

Candidates must have either:

• Two years’ experience as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

OR

• Three years’ experience as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

Experience should be in a recognized educational institution.

Selection Process

The selection process for UPSC Vice Principal Recruitment 2026 consists of two stages. Candidates must qualify in each stage to be considered for final selection.

Stage 1: Combined Recruitment Test (CRT)

• Offline (Pen & Paper) examination
• Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Conducted in both English and Hindi
• Maximum Marks: 300
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Negative Marking: One-third (1/3) mark deducted for every incorrect answer

Stage 2: Interview

Candidates shortlisted based on their Combined Recruitment Test performance will be called for the Interview conducted by UPSC.

The final merit list will be prepared using:

• 75% Weightage – Combined Recruitment Test
• 25% Weightage – Interview

Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by UPSC in both the written examination and the interview.
