Application Mode

Eligible candidates must submit their application only through online mode using the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board.

Offline applications will not be accepted. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application for one selected RRB. Multiple applications may lead to rejection of candidature. 

Job Location

Selected candidates may be posted in various Zonal Railways of Indian Railways across India according to the recruitment rules and administrative requirements.

Salary / Pay Level

The selected candidates for the post of Section Controller will receive salary under:

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the RRB Section Controller Recruitment 2026 must possess the following qualification:

• Fee payment is accepted only through online mode such as Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.

Important Note

• Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any other refractive eye surgery are not eligible for the post of Section Controller.
• A prescribed medical certificate must be produced before the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT).

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)

• Single Stage CBT
• Objective-type examination
• Negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer
• Marks will be normalized if the examination is conducted in multiple shifts.

2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

Candidates shortlisted from the CBT will appear for the CBAT.

3. Document Verification (DV)

Candidates qualifying both CBT and CBAT will be called for verification of original documents.

4. Medical Examination

Finally shortlisted candidates must qualify the prescribed Railway Medical Examination before appointment.

Final Merit

• CBT Weightage – 70%
• CBAT Weightage – 30%

Only candidates qualifying the CBAT will be considered for final merit.
