Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Item Nos. 1 to 12)

• Degree: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
• Computer Certification: 6 (six) months Diploma in Computer Operation.
• Shorthand Qualification: 1 (one) year course in Shorthand with a minimum speed of 80 words per minute (w.p.m.).
• Note: The required shorthand speed (80 w.p.m.) must be explicitly mentioned on either the mark sheet or the completion certificate.

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC / ST Candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 (five) years.
• Serving Government Employees: Equal to the number of years served, up to a maximum of 5 (five) years.

Reservation & Nationality Rules

1. 100% Vacancy Reservation: All posts are reserved for candidates belonging to:

• Any Naga Tribe
• Kuki
• Kachari
• Garo
• Mikir (Provided such candidates are Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland).

2. Backward Tribe (BT) Reservation: Implemented per Government notifications dated 14th April 2011, 15th June 2012, & 23rd March 2022.
3. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Must produce mandated Form C, Form D, and Form E. In the absence of eligible PwBD candidates, the 2021 backlog vacancies will be dereserved.
4. Certificate Issuing Authority: Indigenous Inhabitant, SC, ST, and BT Certificates must be signed by a District Authority not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC).

Selection Process & Key Guidelines

1. One-Time Registration (OTR): Candidates must register on the official NPSC portal prior to completing the application.
2. Document Verification: Candidates will be required to submit attested/self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates (Matriculation Admit Card for DOB proof, Marksheets, Pass Certificates, Reservation Certificates, PwBD Certificates, No Objection Certificates for serving employees) as and when requested by the Commission.
3. Examination: The exact date and syllabus of the examination will be separately notified on the official NPSC website.
4. Cancellation of Candidature: Furnishing false information, suppressing material facts, or failure to meet eligibility criteria at any stage will result in instant cancellation of candidature.
